2016 Standard Bank Super Cup final is here!
The reality of the 2016 Standard Bank Super Cup final on Saturday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium hit home stretch on Wednesday morning with the finalists presented with the playing kit by the sponsor at Football House.
MTC Premiership champions Tigers will take on Standard Bank Super Cup defending champions African Stars for in the grand finale, as Stars won the mini-playoffs held in August, to take their place in the final match on Saturday as they gun for a record third consecutive triumph in the Standard Bank Super Cup.
And as customary, the two teams were presented with the playing attire for the clash at Football House with Standard Bank Namibia’s Company Secretary Sigrid Tjijorokisa calling on the two teams to bring out the best of football on Saturday and calling on fans to come and see the best in action.
“It is all coming down on Saturday at Sam Nujoma Stadium when the two sides meet in the final match and we are expecting a great game of memorable displays and we call upon all the fans to come and witness the biggest game of the year with us. Standard Bank is excited about the game on Saturday and we have no doubt that the best of football will be dished out for all to enjoy”, Tjijorokisa said.
Barry Rukoro echoed Tjijorokisa’ s sentiments and urge clubs to bring their A-game on Saturday in order to convince the sponsors to back the cup for seasons to come.
“The NFA is here to bring the sponsor and it is the clubs’ job to make sure they stay with us and that is through bringing the fans to the stadiums and playing the best of football. Let’s make this one a spectacle indeed” Rukoro stated.
The day’s programme will start at 12h00 as gates open and at 13h00 the African Stars and Tigers Legends will polish up their golden boots for one more last salon and at 12h00 Standard Bank Social Club will take on Revolutions in another exhibition encounter. The Grand finale will be at 16h00 between Tigers and Stars. Multiple award winning musician Gazza will provide the entertainment.
Tickets for the 2016 Standard Bank Super Cup are available on Computicket at Shoprite and Checkers countrywide as well as Football House in Katutura for N$ 30 each.
