The Brave Warriors aims to turn the Sam Nujoma Stadium into their fortress in 2021 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers as they host Chad on Wednesday, 18h00 as they look to make back to back AFCON appearance a reality.
Brave Warriors captain Petrus Shitembi states that the team is ready to face Chad on Wednesday and they have to lay a marker for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers campaign with a good result at home.
“We have to go out there and prove a point. We need to make the Sam Nujoma Stadium fortress just like in the previous campaigns and indeed we are focused and ready to get dirty and warm hearts on Wednesday night. This is our fortress”, says the mercurial midfielder.
Shitembi adds that the return of the likes of Ryan Nyambe and Riaan Hanamub will surely boost the team’s ability to get the desired result against Chad.
“Last time I played with them was at AFCON in Cairo and now we meet again and their experience and stature can only add value to the team and our campaign. Ryan is at home and thanks to our leadership styles through the years, he’s one of us and blends in and the comradery is exceptional like always”, explains Shitembi.
For the Wednesday clash will be at 18h00 and tickets are selling at Pick n Pay stores countrywide and Football House for N$30 each. The team will travel to Conakry on Thursday morning to take on Guinea on Sunday, 17 November for their second Group A qualifiers match.
“We know the nation is disappointed by Saturday’ result, but our boys played against guys that play active football week after week and so that difference was always going to be there. We need the support of the nation yet again and this time things will be different indeed. We have achieved a lot and we continue to push ourselves to achieve more for our country”, declares Shitembi.
Ryan Nyambe chips in, “It’s good to be back with the lads and it’s so special that finally I’m home and I will do my best to ensure that my home debut is memorable. We have a good team and the guys are focused to tick the right boxes”.
