The Brave Warriors will play to finish on a high when they take on Seychelles on Thursday at the 2019 Cosafa Cup underway in Durban, South Africa.
Having lost 2-1 to Malawi on Tuesday night and effectively losing top spot in Group B with Malawi booking a date against Zambia in the Quaterfinals on Sunday, Namibia will now take on the Islanders.
Coach Collin Benjamin says the boys need to raise their heads up and fight for a good result to go out with a bang.
“The boys made mistakes against Malawi and will they learn from that. Now we plan to play well against Seychelles and get a good result to finish on a high. Many of then are making their debuts at the international stage and it will help them to grow thier game” Benjamin explains.
Victory for the Brave Warriors will ensure they finish second in the group with a total of six points while a defeat might peg them down depending on how Mozambique plays as well.
Coach Benjamin adds that the objective of the team was to give players a run and they have achieved that and have seen what players can offer on this level.
” Surely the boys got the much needed run at this level and going forward we can see how to fit them in.”
The team is due to departure back to Windhoek on Sunday but some players should be joining up with the 17 that were announced recently and started training at the HPC in Pretoria this week ahead of the 2019 AFCON training camp set for Dubai from 03 June.
